I was going in that direction Vonnie. As Mike had a thread & they said singers, I didn't. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who felt this way. I second your & S.S. feelings. I feel you Medusa, I guess we all could use a prayer, especially the people who don't think that they do.

We should keep Whitney Houston in our prayers. According to news reports, she has entered drug rehab. Addiction is a serious illness, but she can get better. And we should keep her daughter in prayer also. I would bet that precious child has not had an easy time of it.

Medusa: I feel you! We could all use some upliftment in these trying times.

Peace!

Linda Di...I was thinking the same thing. Whitney needs our prayers more than ever now.

Top of pageBottom of page   By SoniT (66.106.213.162) on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 - 12:15 pm:

Yes, let's pray for Whitney. Let's also pray for The Sylvers (they sang "Boogie Fever" and other songs) family because Edmund Sylvers passed away recently.

I am sending up prayers for all of these artists who have given us so many years of listening pleasure. Prayers for the whole world because it's needed -- prayers for peace, more love and compassion. I keep reading that Mary Wilson is not feeling well. She has always been my most favorite Supreme. If anyone knows, what is the nature of her illness? I pray it's nothing serious. Thanks.

I for one will agree. I want to put music to the side for a second SD'ers. I remember when the big winter storm blew and all systems we're down. And I forgot to mention this, though I didn't have the heart to express it due to colds, flus, and head colds.

You all remember the that played the grandmother on the very first Soul Food, the movie. I can't think of her name for the live of me. However she was involved in an car accident on the (south) eastside of Chicago. Think the accident happened in the last months of Dec of 03 or Jan of 04?

She was driving on either 93rd or 95th & Jeffery, she is originally from the area. In the car with her was an young niece or nephew. The report I heard rather or not who was driving at the time.
That she was rushed to an undisclosed hospital (I think I know...that's not important). She's listed
in critical condition and is in a coma. She is co-starring in a movie with Tom Hanks and Mario Wynans.

I was happen to wonder has anyone else heard of this report and the report of her condition.

Don

I'm still praying for Luther Ingram, who is suffering from kidney disease.

Also, I'm praying for some British Invasion performers as well: Paul Atkinson of the Zombies (who has inoperable cancer), Mike Smith of the Dave Clark 5 (who has been paralyzed since a fall at his home--not too long after I'd seen him perform in Cleveland, BTW), Gerry Marsden of Gerry and the Pacemakers (who had open heart surgery), and also Randy Owen, the lead singer of the country group Alabama (who had to cancel their farewell tour because of his severe inner ear problems, which affect his balance and other functions) and I'm still praying for Lynn Bruce, Gil Bridges, the Count and Pat Lewis.

God bless us all...

Best,

Mark

Hi Mark. I used to write back & forth with Lynn Bruce here in the forum. I wasn't aware that there was something wrong with him. I hope that it's not serious, please send my regards! I also was unaware that Pat Lewis wasn't well. May God bless all of those whom you've mentioned & I wish them speedy & full recoveries.

Juice,

It was mentioned some time ago on the Forum that Lynn was suffering from glaucoma or some similar eye problem that was threatening his eyesight.

As for Pat Lewis, her illness has been well-documented here. Her doctors couldn't exactly say what the problem was, though.

Any updates on either of them?

Best,

Mark

First of all, as this is a friendly forum about soul music, we should praying about us all and especially Dyva Naye (i'm sad to know this, friend! i wish to you all the best, firsty your health is well!).

I'm feel also sad knowing about Maurice of EW&F (he is so young or relativy young...!!??)
And i think that who loves soul music have also sensibility and should to praying for those millions of persons (children incuded) that got the bad luck to was born in the "Third World" and deadth of inanition by towsands everyday,... For the planet Earth and the life in his surface (the ozone hole!)... For the goes on of the common sense, the justice, ... I'm agnosthic, but many times make "trascendent conversations". It's not possible the life, the beauty, the Art and also those suffering without a cause or sense. Should to exist some "supreme entity" called God or called anyway.

Peace of Soul and Health of Body!

THAT WAS A DEEP ONE, WTC SURVIVOR. AFTER ALL YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH YOU STILL MANAGE TO PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES, AS GOD TOLD US TO. I FEEL YA ON THAT ONE. WE ALL NEED TO PRAY FOR WORLD PEACE, THE STARVING AND DYING CHILDREN IN AFRICA, ALL OF THE AIDS PATIENTS LIVING AND EVENTUALLY DYING OF THE DREADED DISEASE (AND IF ANYONE SAYS THAT AIDS IS A CURSE FROM GOD, MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THEIR SOULS FOR THEY ARE DEAD WRONG! I WOULD NEVER WISH THAT ON MY WORST ENEMIES), PRAY FOR LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING IN A WORLD FILLED WITH WAR AND APATHY, PRAY FOR THE POORER WILL GET RICHER, PRAY FOR THE SURVIVAL OF FREE SPEECH AND BASIC FREEDOM, PRAY FOR ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL FOR THEY ARE GOD'S CREATIONS TOO (AND I BELIEVE THERE IS A HEAVEN FOR THEM, CONTRARY TO WHAT ANYBODY ELSE BELIEVES), PRAY FOR A NEW PRESIDENT AND JOBS IN 2004, PRAY FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS SEPARATED BY INDIFFERENCES TO COME TOGETHER BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE, AND PRAY THAT GOOD WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER CONQUER OVER EVIL FOR ONE DOSE OF LOVE IS BETTER AND STRONGER THAN A HUNDRED-THOUSAND-MILLION-BILLION-TRILLION DOSES OF HATE.

I'm covering the world with positive energy so all of you can get a little taste. We can sure use it.

Lynn, I'm so sorry to hear that. You're in my prayers & thank you Mark for letting us all know. Mark, you bring some real perspective here today, regarding what's important in life. Today, I was a little crabby about some leg soreness. After reading your post, I'm thankful for the muscle pain. Perspective is a good thing. Your upbeat words are very inspirational, I'm sure that we can all learn from your motivational spirit. Again, I wish you all of the best that God has to offer, as well as a speedy recovery.

God Bless!!
