It would be great to see Cindy Birdsong and Mary Wilson together again!! Although there are fans that who would love to see Scherrie and Lynda on the show, there is no way Mary is going to be on a national television show with those two ladies (especially Lynda) after the lawsuits, anti-Mary letters on the FLOS website and RTL. It would be easier to get Diana together with Mary and Cindy. LOL!!!! I will take my Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong any way I can get them.

I think this is exciting news. Wilson was with the group from the beginning to the end and Birdsong during two of its most successful era's, the latter day Ross DRATS grouping and the Terrell era, so it might seem natural that they are the ones to be on the show.

If this event happens it will also bring Mary and Cindy a form of visual representation from a whole new generation of listeners, many of whom were not even born when the Supremes were at their peak.

Perhaps it's possible that the collective voice of many of the fans has had some impact after all.

Among the artists slated to perform in the tribute to Motown Records are The Commodores, The Four Tops, Macy Gray, Gladys Knight, The Temptations and original Supremes Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong.

One of the things that makes me smile is that the unsung Cindy Birdsong, who has been a class all the way and has not formed her own group, or sued Mary, is finally getting her due in the last couple of years (Heritage Award, etc). I am so excited... I wet myself. Excuse me everyone, I have to go take care of that...

Sorry, I said Heritage when I meant Heroes and Legends award. I can name every brain cell I have left:

The original Supremes" (Diana Ross, Mary Wilson,& Florence Ballard) as well as Cindy Birdsong received the "Heroes and Legends award, Sunday September 28th at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in Los Angeles CA.

Over the years Cindy has been left out of a lot of awards & things because she was not "original," but she should be included because she was with Diana Ross and the Supremes at their height and saved the group by being a divine replacement. Mary Wilson has always made a point of saying how important Cindy was to that and later incarnations of the group.

The idea is to have the old with the new. Kelly being from the new and Cindy Birdsong and Mary Wilson of the old. The classic lineup is three women. Although there are fans who would like to see Jean, Lynda Scherrie, and Susaye on the show, the disaster of the RTL tour illustrated that America considers The Supremes to be Cindy Birdsong and Mary Wilson. Let's face it, most of the Supremes biggest hits occurred with the Diana/Mary/Florence or Cindy lineup. I adore Jean Terrell and think that Scherrie is a doll but you simply could not logistically have have all these ladies on the stage at the same time as "The Supremes" without confusing the audience. And there is no way... absolutely no way that Mary will be on the stage singing with Lynda Laurence.

I do hope that Jean, Mary, and Cindy do a concert one day to give the fans a real kick.
