Who are the members of this group?

Greg Tormo discusses this group at length on his Solid Hit Soul web site.

They were first known as the Emotions and sang together when they were in the service. They cut a song entitled "Do This For Me" for the Vardan label. An alternate take of this tune, credited to the Lovers, was a hit when released on Philips.

Now known as the Lovers, they also recorded a great Northern soul rarity, "Without a Doubt" for the L.A.-based Frantic label (not the same Frantic label as the Rotations' stuff). They later became the Pacemakers and recorded for Minit and Fantasy.

I'll give you the URL to the page on Greg's site with the full story. You can also hear an RA of one of the Emotions sides on Vardan there as well.
I'll come back with the URL tomorrow or Friday.

Best,

Mark

Hey Cornbread!

As promised, here is the link to the page on Greg Tormo's site that will tell you everything you want to know (and then some) about the Emotions/Lovers/Pacesetters. I must admit, I hadn't looked at that page in a while and it is very interesting.

While you're at it, take a look at all the other rare sounds he has posted there (by clicking 'more pics') and also visit the main page for some other neat articles.

Best,

Mark
