I hope that they do sound good...I am glad that they are trying to keep it together. I have wishful thinking, of course, that the originals come together, but I really do hope the best...I love their music! :)

"Ooh Boy" sounds pretty good to my ears!

Welcome back, Cindy & Terry! And welcome to the En Vogue family, Rhona!

New member Rhona Bennett is an accomplished actress, most notably as Nichole Evans on the Jamie Foxx Show. She also appeared in the films, "Malibu's Most Wanted" and "Diva" and the TV shows, "Emerald Cove, "Homeboys In Outer Space" (as Loquatia) and spent three years on the new Mickey Mouse Club. Christina Aguilera was also on the show at the time.

Their new single has been played for the last month on Solarradio.com, and I have to say is a fine return to form.A great piece of music.

I hope they have every success, as it looks as though the newest member Rhonda has settled in nicely.

Welcome back girls.

Hi All.

I had mentioned on another thread (forgot which), that En Vogue was on Soul Train some weeks ago. They sounded pretty good, and the new member Rhona Bennett is a great addition. As dvdmike has stated, she used to play on Jamie Foxx doing jingles. I'm investing in this cd.

I love their new song. It has an ol' school feel to it. EnVogue is one of my favorite groups and I'm glad they're back!

Does anyone remember Cindy Herron on a PBS series back in the late 70s' called "Up & Coming"? Everyone always want to say her first role was in "Juice".

Not so.

Handsome: I vaguely remember it. Was that the show with Rosalind Cash and Laurence Fishburne about a black family in San Francisco? If it is, thanks for the memory! I couldn't think of the name of the show for nuttin!

What part did Cindy play? the daughter of the main black family?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Handsome (170.118.158.14) on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 - 12:36 pm:

Nosey, you win the prize!

Cindy played the teenage daughter & had an older brother. They also had a female cousin. The father was played by actor Robert Don Qua (last name-something to that effect).

Thanks Handsome! I used to look forward to that show! I wonder if it's on DVD.

Top of pageBottom of page   By dvdmike (65.208.234.61) on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 - 01:29 pm:

The actor who played the father was Robert DoQui, also popular for playing the pimp, King George in "Coffy", starring Pam Grier. I also remember "Up And Coming" from the early '80s as well as "!Oy Willie."

What up Handsome! Wow, I always thought Cindy's first role was in Juice. She must be in her late 30s or early 40s now.

Yes, I remember the show "Up and Coming" and Cindy being in the cast. Comedian De'Alan Moss was also in the series. This show could be called "The Cosby Show" of the 70s

I remember UP AND COMING. Unfortunately, in my area, it didn't always come on at a consistent time. But I do remember liking it a lot.

I also remember Cindy appearing in an episode of THE RIGHTEOUS APPLES. She auditioned to be a part of their band, but wasn't chosen.

Reese!
"The Righteous Apples"! God, I haven't heard that name in years!!!! Great TV show!

I remember seeing the late Ron O'Neal guest-star on the program when it ran on PBS.

I'm listening to the cd now and it's pretty good, but what happened to Amanda Cole? She was with them on their Christmas album and I thought she was good too. I hope they start with endless replacements because it weakens the legacy.

Now this is good news. Although I am sorry that Maxine and Dawn are not there, I am still happy that they have not given up singing. Indeed this is the return of a REAL girl group!!

I remember UP and Coming...In fact the Theme Song was a Bill Withers tune...Thats how I remember Cindy!! Man, she was a fox then!!

I KNEW somebody was gonna bring up KING GEORGE!!! LOL.

En Vouge sounds great! Heard them on the radio yesterday, live interview, and the blew accapella harmony on the new cut. They have always impressed me, how ever I really did not care for their version of 'Giving him Something He Can Feel'...Aretha stamped her DNA all on that joint!

Top of pageBottom of page   By Marvel (208.4.27.140) on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 - 09:12 am:

I am really lovin "Everday". They sampled "Lets do It Again" from the Staple Singers.

sly fan, you know too much! How have you been?

You remember King George (from the Movie Coffee, I believe)!

And I liked the theme song...It said something about.."the most you could ever do is the best that you can".

Does anyone know where you can purchase the new En Vogue CD? I tried amazon.com and couldn't find it?

Top of pageBottom of page   By Reese (12.15.169.194) on Wednesday, February 25, 2004 - 12:46 pm:

I saw the new cd at Tower yesterday, so I assume that it's probably at other stores as well. Considering the timing of the recent press and postings about it, it might have just been released yesterday.

I just got the new CD Soulflower. Hmmm. I thought this would knock my socks off. My socks stayed on. I don't think this one will do anything great. I found the vocals bland and the songs mediocre/boring for the most part. After their last 2 so-so CD'S, I was hoping this would be the one! For me, it isn't. I was disappointed. Has anyone else heard it and what do you think? I've always been a big En Vogue fan and kept hoping for the good old days. I was surprised that two of the original producers were back. Somethings missing here. Could it be Maxine and Dawn? I'm still glad they're back and hope this does well for them.
