Hey Charise! I join you in wishing our Chaka a very Happy Birthday. I came of age listening to Rufus fea Chaka Khan. Those posters!!! Man did Chaka have it going on, She had to have been the sexiest Singer back in the day. And that voice: MAGIC. I won't attempt a list of her great songs, they're too numerous. But here are two of my favorites: Sweet Thing & Everlasting Love. Just when I thought that Sweet Thing was one of her sexiest performances, she came along with Everlasting Love. Man that song had a slow, languid, smoky feel to it, sexy as you know what. She sang most of that song in a lower register & sounded sexier than I'd ever heard her sound before. That song was all about seduction, or as she sang: "Midnight persuasion". That whole Ask Rufus LP was the bomb, especially Hollywood & At Midnight. Man, I'm having a 1977 flashback & the memories are nice :)

So, Chaka, I wish for you nothing but the best that God has to offer & many, many more healthy, happy & prosperous birthday. Thanks for the memories & thanks for all of the great music!!

Juice
