Hi, everyone,
I'm writing a book about Aretha and am having difficulty confirming one piece of information -- I thought someone on this board might be able to help me. It's been widely reported that Aretha sang at Martin Luther King's funeral. But in fact, she didn't sing at the actual funeral; she sang at a later memorial service. Does anyone know where and when exactly that service occurred? I've seen footage: It's in a church, Aretha's in a white outfit, singing "Precious Lord," and Coretta Scott King and her kids are in the front pew. I just can't figure out the specifics of this performance. If anyone has any information, I would really, really appreciate it. Send me an email at matt@actualmedia.net or just post here. Thanks a lot, everyone.

I always thought Aretha sang at The Funeral Service, I am just listenig to the Funeral Service CD, but it is not included.
Currently I am reading the autobiography of Rev Ralph Albernathy (What another True Man) he describes how that sad day had a lot of tensions sadly, but he does not mention Aretha so far.
