There's a nice article on HOWARD TATE in todays issue of London's "Daily Telegraph"
Hope the link works :-
I've not had a chance to hear his new C.D. yet, but last week it was declared "C.D. of the Week" in "The Metro" (a free newspaper distributed at railway stations in London and some other parts of England).

I met Howard Tate in 1966 at the Howard Theater in DC, on a show with Percy Sledge, The Intruders, MC/Comedian Sad Sam, and others...
I wish Howard the best and hope we'll cross paths again on the road, it would be a gas to see him again, say hello and do some catching up. You are blessed Howard, best wishes for more career success in the future. Jimmy has a saying "You may give out a little but you never give up".

I was invited by Howard to see him at the Tweeter Center here next week.
I am elated that he is back better than ever!

Great article. I saw Howard Tate on a big package show in Sept.'66.I have 3 or 4 of his Verve 45's in my collection and I will look for this new C.D."Ain't Nobody Home", "Look At Granny Run Run" and "Stop" are my faves by this real Soul singer. Thanks Roger for the news.

Thats so cool! Is Vonnie going with you? If so, tell her to bring the pix, and say a big "Hello" for me!

I haven't been following the discussions here from the beginning, so I might bring old news, but here are a few on-line articles from some time ago:
How interesting to read about your encounters with Howard T. "back in the day". I saw Howard Tate for the first time in Utrecht, Holland this November, and he gave a wonderful performance to a rapturous audience. It was a truly moving experience, especially when he launched into "I Learned It All the Hard Way". It was apparent how stunned he was that all these Europeans knew all his old songs and sang along with each and everyone of them! If he's appearing anywhere near you, don't miss him!
I've heard that his Verve recordings we'll be re-issued again in a special Internet only edition-the old re-issues from 1995 are going for outrageous prices at ebay.
All the best, Eva

Eva, actually, on ebay, there are 2 copies of the Verve LP, items 4002456156 & 4002027671, and I don't think they'll go that high, though, with ebay, we never know !
