It's been a bad week for the rhythm section - first Who bassist John Entwhistle, then Pistol, now Ray. I can only say I saw Ray play a few times and he always lived up to his stellar reputation. R. I. P.

what Loss! but we have many wonderful recodrings with a variety of musicians. Oscar Peterson is my favorite pianistand musician, he and Ray Brown were like brothers, it has to be a very sad day for many many of our very best people, themusic makers.

Thanks for mentioning Ray was a teacher as well. I have his book, it is one of the classic books on bass.
