Does anybody know the whereabouts of Lulu Reed, R&B recording artist (Federal/King/Argo) and ex wife of Sonny Thompson? Is she still alive? If so, where does she live? Is she still performing? Does she sing for the Church now? Any contact info would be appreciated.

Also, trying to find out the latest status of Devorah Brown (of Fortune Records). Is she still alive? If not, when did she die?

As always, the help of you wonderful knowledgable folks here on this forum is always appreciated!

Thanx in harmony,

Nikki

Hi Nikki. Sorry to report that Devora Brown has been dead for a number of years, though I don't have a date at hand. Her son Sheldon is still alive--he's in his early 60s now.

Sorry, Joe, but Devora is still alive,
very old but very much alive. And yes
you can still see her son Sheldon
riding his bike in downtown Royal Oak.

That reminds me of the famous quote from Mark Twain, when told someone was composing his obituary: "..reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

HA! Well, it's not the first time I've tried to bury someone who's still breathing. I'm constantly seeing obits in the paper and thinking, "But he's been dead for years..." Anyway, apologies to Nikki for misleading her, to Devora for trying to whack her without cause, and to the truth for paying her too little mind. Next time I want to report what I know is true, maybe I'll check my facts first. Thanks for setting me straight...

Well,I'm glad that was cleared up. Yes,Devora is still very much alive. She lives with one of her sisters. She's really quite healthy physically, but does a lot of reminiscing about the old days & Nolan.

To me, Devora Brown is the real hero behind the genius of Fortune Records. I've been wanting to interview her for years. Does anyone know if this is at all possible? I'll be in Detroit from around July 17 through the 25 if anyone can help...
