Another local musician has passed away. After a long illness, Jimmy Boyer (and the Newports)has left us but his melody lingers on.
He's worked every spot known to man... but very popular in the Metro Detroit area working every since the early days of rock. He's listed in the "Rockabillie Hall of Fame." We will all miss him.. our deepest regrets to his wife and family.
Since, i'll be the MC at the 50's & 60's Reunion show.. maybe we should take a minute out of the show to honor those who have "left us".

Thank you for informing us of Jimmy's passing. I think a memorial moment in the show would be a good idea. We have lost a good number of very talented people and they should be remembered.

Hey George,I also heard of Jimmies Passing,what a shame.Great entertainer and FAB.rockabillie Kool Kat.It seems that latley all our great MOTOR CITY entertainers are going to that Malt Shop In The Sky.Thats what worries me about putting off the big reunion till MAY of next year.Its just my opinion,but how many more will be going to ROCK and ROLL HEAVIN before the big gig?I think it should be soon as possible.But,who am I to judge?Iam going into hibernation for awhile because of a personal upset to me,and will be saying so long to the forum for awhile.On the left coast there has been some back stabbing I must investigate.I recieved some E-Mail and a few phone calls informing me of this.I am only glad to say it didn't happen on the forum.Or maybe it did and the intelligent mind of RALPH,and gentelman that he is might have deleted it.What is going on ,on the left coast is totally different then the reason why i am going into hibernation for awhile,but if you were at JAMMIES Sunday,you would know. I'm not sure I'm aware of what upset you but I hope it was some misunderstanding. Everyone on this forum seems to hold one another in the highest esteem, so a personal attack of any sort would certainly astonish me. Please stick around. You're regular presence here has enriched us all and you would be missed.

You're into the history of fifties/sixties Detroit as much as anyone. That has been apparent since your first post.

Therefore, I think you'll find you return quicker than you imagine.

If there's one thing that I've learned, or tried to learn, over the years, it's "don't let the b*@!"$-s get you down".
