Those of us who have been on this forum since the " old days " have seen it grow beyond any of our expectations. We have acquired many new friends here and daily new faces are appearing. Because of the excellence in music that is represented here, I feel we should conduct ourselves in a similar manner. We are no longer a bunch of guys sitting around in a smokey pub, knocking back a few and discussing R&B. Things have changed here and we never quite know for certain who may appear.

As moderator I had to delete a couple of posts I felt were inappropriate. Believe me, I'm no censor to this forum. However, I feel the F word is not appropriate nor is blatant sexual innuendo. Please remember what level of quality is represented here and know many eyes are reading what is written here. Thank you all for your understanding.

Amen to you Ralph. This is a professional site and should be treated as such. There is always room for "cute quips" but raw gutteral language need not be typed. The reason I have thoroughly enjoyed this site is because it has been very professional, unlike some other sites that purport to be music oriented. It's all about the MUSIC and that is the way it should be kept. I know that at times music does involve some rumors and innuendos but hopefully it can be kept to a minimum. Keep up the good work on this forum it is truly wonderful.

Yours in MUSIC
Sis Poly Esther

Ralph,

I can only surmise from your statements what may have occured. You have my support (not that it means much of anything but you got it anyway) Believe me I know how difficult it can be to run a forum sometimes. Keep up the good work

I am so glad you made that statement. I feel that we just do not need to have any of those unsavoury words - Soulful Detroit is a site about those who are passionate for their music; it's not about playground humour - there are plenty of OTHER sites for that type of behaviour.

As a moderator myself of another music Forum, I fully understand your situation, and concur 100% with your views and actions. This is probably the most intelligent and guest-blessed Forum on the 'net, and everyone should be mindful of one of its major qualities... you truly do not who is next going to put in an appearance.

PS - Ralph, I hope you never have to deal with a problem I faced recently, when the Forum I moderate was invaded by Heavy Metal Satanists. (I kid you not!) Somehow, thankfully - I think that's unlikely to happen here ;o)

Thanks for all the messages of support in this. This web-site is, in my opinion, truly something very special.I also feel that the forum is represented by intelligent, principled people and because of it's incredible growth I would like all newcomers here to know this. Thanks again.
