In Part 1 of Dr Licks's book 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown' it states that James had blue eyes. I do not doubt the integrity of this information, but merely ask why? Can anyone fill me in on this. Is this a normal occurence, and if so why?
I have no wish to cause offence to anyone, I am simply curious.
Whether James had blue, or sky blue pink eyes, it did not stop the genius coming through. (Actually I have blue eyes!)

Hey Padge,
When it comes to women, no one is more serious than I am. Besides, I'm ahead of you by one in the marriage department.

Believe me John, you were thought of as I was typing out that last message. I dare say you must be mellowing somewhat. Perhaps I can remove a portion of my armor??

I read the same thing in the book SITSOM.
Thinking this was extrordinary, I asked Jamerson's cousin who grew up with him, "what color were James's eyes????? He responded to me they were Hazel Green in fact.
I do have a photo of James and his wife Annie and now that I look close, I do see hazel eyes.

Most African-Americans have at least some white ancestry so it is possible though certainly not common for them to have blue/green/hazel eyes. Blue eyes are a recessive gene so that means that two brown-eyed parents can have a blue-eyed baby - at least I hope that is the case since my wife and I both have brown eyes and our son is blue-eyed! Luckily, we both have blue eyes in our families.

I probably mellowed only cos I have been with the Velvelettes and Dennis Coffey over the past week but they have gone back to Detroit today, so I can now get back to normal.
So you better put that armour back on!!

Ralph, it depends on which portion. There are ladies about - some with one or more blue eyes! And, yes I've got to say it - don't it make my brown eyes blue!

Thanks for the warning John.It seems I was developing a false sense of security. Glad the girls and Dennis smoothed you out though. Great talent has a way of doing that.
Ian..I love blue eyed ladies.

Some time ago, I asked Jamerson's first cousin Anthony McKnight about that blue eyes issue. He told me that infact Jamerson had Hazel eyes.

Hi all,
Thank you for the information (and all the quips).
So, James had Hazel eyes and not blue.
