At one time, I owned one of the largest and most complete Motown singles collections in the world. The USA part of this collection was sold back to Berry Gordy, Jr. in 1992. My good friend Ewart Abner II (former Motown president)flew to my home and supervised the 'removal' of this vast collection totalling near 100 boxes of records. Today, this collection should now be housed within the Motown museum in Detroit (at least this was the intent of Berry Gordy when he purchased the collection from me 10 years ago).

Hi Reg

Sounds like a lot of intresting stuff.

And how funny that you should post here today.
Because yesterday I picked up your excellent book "Motown By Master Number" for the first time in several years.

Must have known I was gonna see your name again here!

Cheers

Paul

Reg,
Welcome to the forum. Your thoughts and experiences are most welcome here. Please take this in the good spirit that is intended. The forum is not to be used as a vehicle for selling memorabilia. As moderator, I have no problem with someone posting a line or two that they may have things of interest to sell and giving a contact phone number or e-maill address which you have done. It is not the intention of this forum however to become a market place to itemize and vend wares.I'm sure there will be some interest in what you have to offer. However in the future lets all please keep it down to a line or two with the appropriate contact information. Again Reg, I welcome you here. Ralph Terrana ( moderator )

I am never comfortable moderating posts, so I would like to further clarify the issue of what is permissible on this forum as regards for-profit announcements, because like all things in life there are exceptions.

For instance, announcement of special events that are relevant to this forum or a new book could be allowable, but listing of prices, items for sale at the events, sales contact points, invitations to purchase, etc. would be over the line.

The focus of this forum is to foster the exhange of ideas about Soulful Detroit matters and to inform. If you have any doubt as to the appropriateness of a posting please inquire with Ralph, David, or me.

Thank you in advance for understanding and thank you especially for your continuing outstanding and thoughtful contributions to this fabulous discussion!
