FYI... We at hilly Archives are thinking of compiling a Len Barry cd with his many various label offerings both rare and unreleased,
ie Hearts Are Trump on Cameo and 456 on Mala, All Those Memories on RCA and Bob And Carol, Ted And Alice on Scepter.
I wil update as we progress.

Wasn't Len Barry the lead singer of the Dovells
("Bristol Stomp", "You Can't Sit Down", "Continental")? I have an album on Cameo/Parkway, "Golden Hits" by the Orlons and the Dovells. The Orlons of course had many hits out of Philly, "South Street", "Not Me", "Watusi", "Don't Hang Up".

Hi Gary

I'm sure Bobby will confirm this as our official Philadelphia spokesman, but I can say yes, Len was the lead of the Dovells.

I was checking through the files but couldn't come up with one small detail..... Bobby, wasn't his real name Borisoff (or something quite similar?)

A great record by Len is his uptempo version of "Come Rain or Come Shine" on RCA.

I heard that he works as a bartender in the Philly area when he's not doing oldies tours. Any truth to this?

Best,

Mark
