Hi Vickie,

It was not I. Unless, of course you were talking about my fat aunt Edna Goldstein!! If it was an eating establishment, there was Miss Pearls, which was located in a house directly behind the Uptown Theatre, and Ida's soul food joint at 17th and Columbia.

The original Loretta's High Hat was in Lawnside New Jersey just outside of Philly.
It was also the home of Keny Gamble and the Romeos.
Loretta Adams opened a restaurant/bar across the road from Philly International and is was the place to go and be seen and rub shoulders with everyone from Teddy to the musicians and everyone in between. The food was second to none. The chiterlings were to die for!!
Unfortunately it was torn down and the Kimmel Center for the pperforming arts now occupies its space and a lot of other spaces as wel. I am sure that the spirits of all who gone live within the walls!!

Vickie,
Loretta Adams was like a second mom to Kenny Gamble. In her later years she lived in an apartment in one of Kennys buildings. He is somewhat of a ral estate developer now as heis rehabbing the entire neigborhood of his youth throug company called Universal Properties.
