Does anyone know where Paul Williams of the Temptations was finally laid to rest?

Hi John

I have never seen it listed, but I will continue this thread with this detail taken from Otis Williams book.

Paul was found close to the corner of Fourteenth and West Grand Boulevard on 17th August 1971. He had died from a single gunshot to the head - self inflicted.

The location in only several hundred yards west of the Motown Museum.

His service was held at the Tried Stone Baptist Church a week later. His body was then taken to an unspecified cemetery for burial.

There must be a strong chance that he is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery on Woodward near to 8 mile.
Another possibility is Detroit Memorial Park.

It would be nice to have confirmation.

Mike, I was there at the beginning of the month looking for Johnnie Mae Matthews plot.

The cemetery is in beautiful condition.

It also has an amazing amount of mausoleums.
Tribute, I suppose to the wealth that was once Detroit.

A fascinating city.

Thank you, Weldon I always wonder what has happend to his family.

My interest really increase after seeing the movie "Temptation".

Weldon,do you know if the family still receive the royalities from the songs that Mr. Williams song?

There's two song that I just really love: I want a love I can feel, for once in my life.

I have a copy of "I want a love I can feel" from the sound track, do you know where I can get a copy of "For once in my life"?

Thank you
patsy

FOIML is included on the Temps' IN A MELLOW MOOD album, and there's a Live cut on the TCB joint album with Diana Ross & the Supremes.

If you enjoyed I WANT A LOVE I CAN SEE you should check out the first album: MEET THE TEMPTATIONS, where leads are shared between Paul and Eddie. This album consists of cuts recorded before David joined the group.

Also, there are two Paul solo recordings on the One By One compilation.

I met Paul's son in Bomac's last September.

He bears a strong resemblance to his Father.
