Sorry to those of you who have already heard her 45 on Geneboro' but I've just heard both sides and can't get by breath back! How come a legitimately released 45 of this quality is so unknown? Why hasn't Popcorn mentioned it? or Mike Terry for that matter? Does anyone know anything about her??? Keith. Early research links the label to A GO GO set-up (Eddie Wingate?)

This is a long shot......same family as Hattie??

John, I was thinking the same thing...do you think they are one and the same? Margaret Littles could very well be Hattie Littles!

Popcorn doesn't remember the songs or who Margret was. I've sent him a tape of both sides and will talk to him soon to see if hearing it again has brought back any memories.
A-Go-Go had nothing to do with Ed Wingate, the label was funded by a guy who knew Popcorn Wylie.

Wasn't Larry Wright (on A Go-Go Records) a hairdresser who simply wanted to record a tune, or am I mixing stories up? If not, then maybe Margaret was his assistant and made the coffee and made sure the salon had enough magazines in it?! ;-)
Sorry!

Larry originally recorded with The Volumes, but the guy who funded the A-Go-Go label was a barber.

Did he also own the Seville label?

The credits on the song are Wylie / Hestor and Mike Terry's sax seems quite distinctive. Ady Pierce, the UK dealer that sold it to `Soul Sam` (martin barnfather, the UK DJ), told him that he picked it up in a house in D Town. I can vouch for Ady, he is a decent, honest guy, (unlike some tossers in the UK who have a stock of genuine 60's blank acetates and unissued tracks, who put them together and BINGO!) It is an pucker issue, rather than a Demo/Promo or acetate. Re: Ed Wingate's involvement, or lack of it, I have equal respect for Bob McGrath and his 1st hand US based research and I wouldn't count Ed W too soon. Keith.

Keith,
The A-Go-Go tracks were recorded at Golden World's studios, but to say that Ed Wingate was actively "involved" is another matter.
