I had my mind blown today. Les Chasey e-mailed me. I haven't been in contact with him since the end of Tera Shirma.I invited him to come on the forum. I'm not forcing his hand by starting this thread. I just wish to acknowledge that this amazingly talented man is indeed around. This is the guy that truly designed and built Studio B. Without Les I doubt if it would have really happened.Les, if you wish to come on the forum, I'm sure you will be more than welcome here.

I remember Les very well. He was a soft spoken fellow that could have been a Grand Ol'Opry star. I agree that he was brilliant at technical engineering, yet so wonderfully easy going.

Les did a lot to help me on that project to build an eight track home music system, that never got done, because it was more then I could pull off. He was a true Prince.

I hope that he comes onto the forum.

I was just going to sleep when it dawned on me that I have mistaken this Les Chasey (who I never heard of) for Les Cooley.

Sorry about that. The above discription fits Les Cooley to a "T"

He was the technical engineer at a cassette duplicating plant on the near east side of Detroit around 1967. Very sharp.

It is amazing how the internet is bringing old friends together.

I received an e-mail recently from someone I hadn't seen for 25 years.

Let's hope Les comes on the forum.

Mike,
I didn't think you had known Les Chasey. If you want some perspective on the guy, in so many ways what you were to Motown Les was to Tera Shirma.

I remember Les Cooley speaking very highly of Les Chasey. I had the impression that Les Chasey had worked for RCA before moving to Detroit and that he played a significant role in building United Sound.
