Sorry if this is a foolish question, but I was wondering who played bass on this Temps masterpiece. Thanks!

Hi Boogiebass, I did the guitar intro on the song. It had to be Jamerson or Bob Babbitt on bass. Maybe Bob would remember.

I'm pretty sure Bob Babbitt was doing all of Norman Whitfield's sessions by that time.
The string and horn session at Golden World was amazing. Orson Lewis was the engineer and I was sent over as a third assistant to help out because the session was such a monster. They only had ONE track open so Orson had to mix violins, violas, cellos, arco basses, flutes, trumpets, trombones, a sax section and that timpani in mono to that track. We put horns in the furnace room and the strings, flutes and tymp. out in the studio.
As we've all heard, Norman and Orson pulled it off with no small help from Jerry Long, an astounding arranger from LA. I'm still not sure anybody knew going in what a wonderful record "Just My Imagination" was going to turn out to be.

I had the honor of hearing this great song completed before anyone. Norman came to my office and played it for me to get my opinion. I loved it the very first time I heard it.
