Vickie - I talk to Scott Regan at least once a week. Email me separately and we'll hook you up. If anyone gets his info first please don't post unless Scotty says to do so - he's a private guy.

Anyone know why Ric-Tic bothered to press up so many demo copies of "Scott's On Swingers", when essentially it was a radio jingle just for his show? Surely they didn't think they had a potential hit on their hands in the wake of Edwin's original take on the lyric?

David
-p.s. Come to think of it, I wonder exactly how many they did press up?

When I spoke to Scott and sung along to the song as it was playing in the background, he was amazed that I knew the words...his mouth was wide open like he was catching flies...a sight to see.

It was an honour to have been given the opportunity to meet him....a man with a history and still going strong.

Scott was warm and heartened to hear how in awe of him, we are here in the UK.

I think the Columbia pressing plant had quite a high "mimnimum quantity" order policy.
So, what happened to all the copies of The Magnetics on Bonnie 45? mmmm...

Hello Harry!

Just spoke to Scott Regen and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about you! He's going to visit the website which I'm sure he will enjoy! Didn't realize you worked for Polygram...I worked for Polydor Records in the late 70's in promotion! Small world, isn't it??

Must admit that the double-sided copy I have has a pressing fault - one side plays fine whilst the other sounds as if it's "off-centre" towards the final third of the track. Maybe this may explain why it isn't as common as other Ric-Tic 45's of that period, yet there are plenty of copies around in collections...but still too many for a radio jingle, if you follow?!
There's a scan of it on my site somewhere!

-p.s. There's a rumour of a set of Columbia pressing plant 45 test pressings being filed in ZTSC order......wonder if that's true?

If it's true, how about Columbia doing a 'Cellarful Of Columbia Test Pressings' cd!
