I would like to find more informtion on the Power House label and wonder if anyone has any 45s?
One I have is by King Diamond (better know as O.C. Tolbert) called Message To The Black Woman. The flip - That's All She Wrote - was later re-recorded and is on one of Kent's Dave Hamilton CDs.
Any label listing info' with writer/producer credits would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Graham

It's illegible, but along the top of the label it says - Recorded At GM Detroit.
Someone here must have other Power House 45s?
Does anyone know where O.C. Tolbert is now?
Cheers, Graham
PS. Thanks Ritchie.

Graham;I just saw this thread; I have a 45 by Tommy Ingram on Power House. It's "I Think Somebody Loves Me" backed with "Piece of my Friendly" (?). Both sides were written by Ingram and both were produced and arranged by Roger Bass and Johnny Powers. Both songs were published by Power House Music. Of course you're probably up on all of this since your post is 3 weeks old, but ....
Steve K.
Oh, the label is different than the one scanned above; it's purple with the words 'Power House' inside a cloud-like graphic

Steve, thanks for your input. I was not aware of this 45 and appreciate the info'. What does it sound like? Any chance of a label scan?
I guess this release (number?) is a later one as the label design was changed - I think at the time the King Diamond 45 was pressed; I've been told it's on the one you describe as well as the blue one scanned above.
Thanks again, Graham

Graham; the songs are kind of a country-ish Tony Orlando and Dawn flavor. There are strings on the A side-I found an old Johnny Powers article from an '85 RPM magazine and this song was evidently leased to Roulette Records. The label # is PH-1003 and scratched in to the run-on groove are the words "GM East Detroit" the label numbers and the initials JS. Did GM have a duplication plant or was this just where it was recorded or mastered? I'll scan it for you when the MInister of Computer Affairs gets home.
Speaking of Johnny Powers; the biggest record I know of that had his involvement was probably "Wait a Minute,Here She Comes" that he produced for the Detroit vocal group Tim Tam and the Turn-Ons". This record was ENORMOUS here in Michigan when I was a kid, but I get the feeling it was maybe just a regional hit. Do you (or anybody reading this) know anything about that group or if this was a hit anywhere else?

Great Steve, I like the groovy early 70s logo. A friend in the UK who also has the King Diamond 45 tells me his is an orange-ish color, so it may be a different label design. Is the flip called "Piece Of My Friendly"?
There must be another 7 or so records on the label. So it's 2 down and 5 or more to go. I think David Lasley had the first release.
Thanks again, Graham

Yeah ; the "friendly" in the title refers to "advice". Any info on Tim Tam? I may start a thread about it.

Steve, I don't think it was released in the UK/Europe. It's on the Palmer label and the group had about 4 releases. Sorry, I don't know much about them and maybe this is a topic for a seperate thread?

Steve, Graham
Tim Tam and the Turn-On's "Wait a Minute" was
issued in the UK - it was one of the early issues
on the Island pink label (WIP6007). Released in the UK about a year after apparently hitting no.
1 in the local Detroit charts. It did scrape into
the Hot 100.
I'll post what info. I have on the group in
the next few days as a new thread "TIM TAM AND
THE TURN ONS"

Thanks, Davie; The only thing I ever read re; them was a blurb inside the Michigan Brand Nuggets lp that basically said that they were a Detroit vocal group that worked backing others. I often wondered if that name was an alias for an existing group under contract elsewhere. I really look forward to your info!

Here's a few additions top the Powerhouse listing
1004 RONNIE FRAY
LITTLE JIMMY JONES (Ronnie Fray)
WHERE DO YOU GO (Ronnie Fray)
His full name seems to be Ronald Arthur Fradgley
He had a self-produced album "Put This in Your
Ear" on Eastown Wreckords 771150. From the titles
it looks as if he's a country singer - musicians
on the album include Roger Bass on piano and Bugs
Henderson on banjo.
1011 INNERVISION (July 74)
THE NIGHT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT
THERE'S A FUNGUS AMONG US (Roger Bass)
there are two other releases by this group which
seem to have been leased from Powerhouse.
Ariola 7657 INNERVISION
GOTTA FIND A WAY TO GET BACK HOME
(Lloyd Robinson - Merlene Karriem)
I JUST WANT TO LOVE YOU
(Roger Bass - James Lee Nelson - Lonnie Turner)
Private Stock 45015 INNERVISION (1/75)
HONEY BABE (Bass - Robinson - Turner)
WE'RE INNERVISION (Powers - Robinson - Turner)
