Hello: I used to hear Earl Van Dyke's band play during the middle to late 60's at record hops around Detroit, but the best was when I had an older sister who worked as a bar tender at the 20 Grand, she used to let me come in free and give me free drinks and I use to catch all of the motown acts there (around 1964-65) before they ever became big nationally. More often than not Earl Van Dyke's band was the back up band, if not Phil Upchurch. These bands playing with the likes of the original Temptations, the Miracles and other motown groups provoked memories that will never forget.
