Great stuff. Just picked up Joe Terry's single on Enterprise about the 20 Grand--"we danced on the tables, we danced on the chairs..." A completely legendary club.

Wow! You've promised it for a while David, but now it's arrived! The whole thing sounds too good to be true. Even Blackpool Mecca Highland Room & Wigan Casino sound trivial against the description of the Twenty Grand!
What is/was the instrumental album that Bobby Eli worked on with Mike Terry at Tera Shirma?

Congratulations Guys,
Once again a truly magical place brought to life by people who share a common love of it. Grahams photos are stunning. First time I've seen them. And we thought the Mecca and the Casino were legendary! Can't wait to see what you come up with about Ms Battiste!
Many thanks,
Dave

David, Lowell and everyone - the pages look great and thanks for all the hard work.
BTW; What did Gloria Sykes record?
I see on the 1968 ad' that Channel 9 (CKLW?) was screening something from the club -does anyone still have film footage of these shows?
Graham

loveuali sent in the following regarding the pic on the 'multiplex' page of the 20 grand tour:-
The participants pointing to the 20 grand sign, looks like Aretha Franklin, second from the right,
and the lady standing next to the building looks like Carolyn Franklin.

Hey Ade, I wish that I still had my 70's gear.I had tons of the stuff. I would make a fortune on selling them to the vintage shops!!

I have noticed many kind comments here and in some other threads I have scanned and just want to acknowledge them and say thanks and thanks, too, to all of you for making this forum of such great quality, information and humor.
I wish I could clone myself so I had time to follow this discussion as completely as I prefer to, but I have another raging fire on the Fab Ruins forum that also consumes my time.
But for now, I happily look forward to meeting up again my co-conspirator David [and Harry] in the motherland, the D herself, in two days. More good things are certain to follow.

I'm now able to answer my own question (April 24) - Gloria Sykes was a member of The Four Sonics that recorded on the JMC label.
