Anyone out there have any info on Chris Clark.
She cut some impressive tracks; loves gone bad and i don't want to go back there again, tremendous potential but slipped in to obscurity.
I know she was a Californian who at one point was on more than friendly terms with Berry Gordy, But other than that i know very little about her.

A whole list of her recordings was put out on the Motown Onelist site.....it was ages ago now though. It's too many for me to type out here.
Her albums are being looked at for future release together with bonus tracks and the new Motown Salutes Bacharach contains an unissued song from her.....

Just found some info on Chris Clark:
In 1969, she became the Vice-President of Motown's film division, co-writing the screenplay for 'Lady Sings The Blues' in 1971.
In 1981, she was appointed Vice-President of Motown Productions, with jurisdiction over the company's creative affairs.
Clark left the organization in 1989 and re-recorded 'From Head To Toe' with producer Ian Levine for Motor City Records in 1991.
(from soulwalking.co.uk) a very useful site.
It good to see she achieved success elsewhere!

Chris Clark was unique and a very underrated Motown artist. Her "Soul Sounds" album which was released in 1967 was excellent and now extremely hard to find. She also had what I believe was the only release on the Motown subsidiary Weed label called "CC Rides Again." Never saw the album at retail, only heard a white label copy a friend had and it contained a lot of "covers" of the day.

I remember Chris Clark. She was a knock out good looker, in the style of Kim Novak. Not quite as "fine" as Kim, but still quite a dish!
