Dear Fender,
As far I know Ronnie did not have a nickname. In the studio we just called him "Baker". My girlfiend knew him when she was a kid growing up in the same neighborhood and her and the other kids called him "Ronnie Baker the troublemaker". As far as nicknames go, Tom Bell had nicknames for certain people and I was called "Elsworth Bunker", I have no idea why. Larry Washington the percussion player was called "Biscuit Nose", the trombone player Ritchie Genovese was called "Basketball" and Leon Huff's nickname was "Beaver" and Kenny Gamble had the nickname "Gams".

I have no idea how he came up with that one.
Baker was sometimes caled G-bus as Thom always said that his forehead looked like the front of the bus that he would take to work!!

While Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes were touring, Harold introduced his bassplayer as "The Short Man". As I remember, the bass player was short indeed and his whole right leg was stomping keeping time.
