Marcus Terry is one of the finest drummers to come out of the Detroit area and also one of my best friends. Marcus played with the Royaltones, The Court Jesters, Bobby Lewis and Jose Feleciano. He is also on quite a few Del Shannon recordings. I think quite a few people will have quite a bit to say about this flamboyant person. Marcus and I had an entertainment agency together called Morning Productions. I don't know why we called it that because we had a hard time getting up in the morning to take care of business. As soon as I figure it out I will post a photo of Marcus and I together.

George,
Marcus was the first drummer I have ever known who refered to his drums as "tubs "
He is a great drummer and an interesting individual.

DeAnne
Marcus is living in Arkansas with Betty. I talk to him once in a while and I will tell him about the site but I don't know if he has a computer. Maybe I can talk him into coming to town in September and we can all meet at the Clawson and have some fun. DeAnne, maybe we can do some acting again.

George...you're crazy...let's stick to the music at this point....I wish Marcus could be there...we really have to organize this, and get as many of the players as we can get on that Friday night. It will the best time...I'm sure we don't have too many stories to share!!

The date will be Friday September 6th. That's all I know for now. You'll have to tell me exactly where the place is, and we can plan to get a room real close because you don't suppose any drinking will be going on that night?? Talk to you soon.

HEY GEORGE.......WHAT A GREAT PHOTO!!!!!!!!!
WITH THE POWER AND THE FORCE OF HIS BACKBEAT...FOR THE STYLE OF DRUMS HE PLAYED I DONT REALLY THINK NO DRUMMERS FROM DETROIT COULD STAND UP TO MARCUS!!!!!!!!!!! AND WHAT A GREAT FRIEND......THE MUSIC COMMUNITY LOVED MARCUS!!!!!!!! MARCUS WAS THE ROYALTONE DRUMMER WHEN THE BAND BACKED DEL SHANNON ON MANY OF DEL'S HITS AS WELL AS THE ROYALTONE TUNES AND OTHER ARTIST WE RECORDED WITH IN DETROIT AND ALSO IN NEW YORK WHERE HARRY BALK DID MOST OF HIS RECORDING!! I SEEM TO RECALL THE ONE THING THAT HURT MARCUS AS FAR AS BECOMING A BUSY STUDIO PLAYER WAS THE FACT THAT HE COULD NOT READ MUSIC WELL ENOUGH (MAYBE GEORGE OR DENNIS CAN VERIFY THAT)......YOU NEVER KNEW WHAT SOME OF THE ARRANGERS WOULD WRITE ON THE CHARTS AND YOU HAD TO HAVE YOUR READING CHOPS TOGETHER...BUT THAT DID NOT STOP MARCUS FROM DOING HIS THING IN THE MUSIC WORLD........HIS DRUMS SOLO'S WOULD DRIVE A CROWD WILD!!!!!!!!!!! AND WHEN THE ROYALTONES WOULD DO SONGS THAT REQUIRED FOUR PART HARMONY MARCUS WOULD PUT ON HIS PRODUCER HAT AND LISTEN AND CRITIQUE US TO MAKE SURE WE ALL WERE SINGING THE RIGHT PARTS AND THAT THE BLEND WAS THERE.....
I KNOW HE LIVED AND WORKED IN LAS VEGAS FOR A LONG TIME AND HE IS NOW LIVING IN ARKANSAS.....
I AM NOT SURE IF HE IS STILL PLAYING?

Danny Sewesky. How have you been? Remember when you and I and Kenny Costa worked at the LaRose Bar downtown. (The Gay joint) Hell, I'll never forget that big gay guy looking at you and drooling. I even remember his name. Charmaine, and his friend, Taboo. Anyhow Barb and I will be celedbrating our 38th wedding anniversary this June. I'm still playing my sax and enjoying it more than ever. Take care and keep in touch. Your old buddy from the Wheelers Hot Rod Club. Nick Palise

I always thought marcus and bo savich were the best drummers that I knew In detroit. The thing about marcus that I liked was that when ever I saw him do any chops that I thought were cool he would share them with me.When I played at the embassy hotel in Windsor,on saturdays we would have jam sessions. Marcus &I would have round robin drum solos. I was a gene krupa stylist(my idol) and He was more of a technition I.E. buddy rich. So people would like the different styles. Of course I would be eating my heart out thinking I need to practice my indpendant sticking more so I can play as well as marcus. Always nice to be around& always funny. Hope your well marcus drop me anote if you read this.
