So let me know your plans. Sorry you can't make my performance this weekend. But there will be other times for sure my survivor brother.

Hi Damon! When are you performing over here in the UK? We want to see you!! I was chatting, here at work, about you just this afternoon. I think some of my work colleagues think I am telling them porkies (spinning a yarn) when I inform them there is more talent on this forum than in the UK top 40!! Just listening to John Rhys' programme (off another thread) and glancing through soulfuldetroit is paradise. Keep singing and get across here!!!!!

Cheers/Carl

Weldon

Just reading the book and have come across 'The Easybeats' section. Realising that two members of the group are Vanda (Dutch) and Young (Scottish), this explains why I have 3 singles on the 'Orange' label, two of them being by John Miles, 'One minute every hour' and 'Yesterday, was the beginning of my life', which I believe they wrote. I had not realised their Motown connection.

I will tell you more about the Easybeats and Motown at another time.

Weldon & Bobby - I am a Philly fan, have visited there several times over the years and have even applied for immigration there! (I love that little town Media, down past West Derby). Did you have much to do with Georgie Woods, DJ, I believe he discovered a lot of groups eg the Debronettes (later to be First Choice) & his wife discovered Brenda & Tabulations?
If anyone out there would like to see two handsome dudes they should check-out Tony Cummings' Sound of Philadelphia book, there are photographs of both Weldon & Bobby there.
Thank you Keith

Bunny Sigler - Wow!

Don't stop what your doin'/Where do the lonely go? - Two of my favourite Philly Neptune tracks on one single!! I missed you by one day when I strolled around Sigma in 1994! However I did get the T-shirt celebrating 25 years of Sigma!

Bunny - keep dropping in with some stories for us. I remember when I first heard 'Where do the lonely go?' in October 1974, I immediately associated it with where I was at that precise time - a sort of intentional memory to remember its and my roots. When I think of the song today I am hurtled back to that room, place and the memory of playing it for the first time on my Pioneer PL12d turntable! I was 19 years old and just learning about Philly and Motown and had bought myself my first stereo. I still have the amp and turntable today, working fine.

Weldon, your book is a great investment. Last nights education was The Elgins and The Fantastic Four.

Thanks
Carl Dixon

that was the kind of person he was, funny till the end, he was very importent person at Motown.
Rest in peace PHIL

Phil Jones was a very hard working guy at Motown. A proffessional in every sense of the word. I remember being with Norman Whitfield the night he finished the Temps Masterpiece album and the first guy Norman called was Phil Jones.

Great idea Harry. Jerry Adams was the first person to call me, and Gordon Prince, another Motown alumni was the second to tell me about Phil's passing. We spoke several weeks ago, and even then he said "I'm gonna beat this thing"! He's was one terrific guy, and I'm sure going to miss him. Rest in peace Phil.
