They are the same person. She also recorded as Kenni Woods on Philips, and was the female voice on Van McCoy productions including the Vonettes.

Hi Mel, Jeff

That Vonettes record fascinates me - must be one of the fastest tracks in my collection.

I can't lay my hands on it at this minute but
in a feature on Margie Alexander in "IN The
Basement" she says that the lead of the Vonettes
was ex-Correctone singer Lillian Dorr. Is there
another Vonettes' disc ? "Touch My Heart"
sounds to me like a girl (Sandi Sheldon) backed
up by a multitracked Van McCoy himself - the
backups certainly sound male to my ears.

I agree with you entirely on that one Davie, you cant beat a good old stomper. You can keep the mid-tempo stuff at an all-nighter,to me,when Igo to an all-nighter,its the good old 100mph wallcrackers that I want to hear.Although it is a lot harder to find new rare sixties movers today, not like the early Mecca and Torch days.Good old Van McCoy knew where it was at.Dont get me wrong,I love mid-tempo sounds,as well as a lot of other types of music, but I was reared on (as they used to say)the 60mph/100mph rare soul dancers.MEL(feeling his age).

Hi Davie,
Kendra has confirmed that she was the main female voice on the Vonettes. And yes that is Van McCoy that you hear!
