I was driving down the New Kent road (the one that continues on from the Old Kent Road!) the other day and happened to be stuck in traffic...nothing unusual there I hear you cry...anyway, I digress, whilst sitting in my car and admiring the forks of lightning flashing around me (wow what a storm that shaped up to be!) I noticed a poster in the window of a ladies hair dressing establishment...so what, I hear you cry and get on with the story...well, to cut (!) a long story short the poster was advertising the "Motown Tress" and had a picture of a beautiful black girl adorned in a wig (one assumes)which kinda stacked her hair up (sorry, don't know the technical terms!)on top whilst still keeping it long down over her shoulders. Well, I s'pose it did look a little bit 60's-ish, and so this leads to the question (at last!)...is this a common term for a particular wig/style used amongst that profession, a "Motown Tress"?

Flynny, you could be right. I definitely remember Sugar Pie Desanto singing about a soulful tress.
