I'm hoping that John or Harry might be able to shed some light on the details of documents that are housed in The University of Michigan's collection.
When I visited a few years ago I was told about the Motown documents, but refused access. I've tried a few times since, without success, and got an email recently to tell me that access is denied until 2038. I'll be in my 80s then - if I'm lucky.
I was hoping the documents might include details regarding various Motown take-overs of companies such as Thelma and Golden World.
Anyone got any ideas why this info is out of bounds for so long?

2038? A simple mathematical guess suggests a 50-year embargo instigated in 1988.

It's probably some letter from Berry to Esther Edwards kicking hmself for moving Motown out of Detroit.

No idea Graham..
I actually believe that Ralph is probably much nearer to the truth than he thinks.
Shall we put our name down for a visit then!!
