hi mel,

"i belong to you" is the flipside of the carla release of "the gallop". it also came out as the flipside of the (illegal?) pressing of "i belong to you" on satiron which was done by john anderson in the 70s to promote "i belong to you" before he did put it out on grapevine.
the satiron release is yellow label with black vinyl. definitely more than 30 copies made.

hope this helps.....

mel,

it was my mistake, of course i didnt mean "i belong to you" but "like a rolling stone", i.e. "like a rolling stone" came out as the flip to "the gallop" on carla and to "i belong to you" on satiron. as the released song"like a rolling stone" isnt another vocal of "the gallop", are you saying that your version has "the gallop" as backing track?

BTW, i think there's a picture of the satiron release on my labelscan site:

RALPH,BENJI,IT LOOKS LIKE THIS GUY HAS GOT HIS LABELS SERIOUSLY MIXED UP,SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE.IVE DUG OUT THE TAPE,AND ITS MOST DEFINATLY NOT THE GALLOP ON THE BACKING TRACK.SO I ASSUME HE IS REFERRING TO THE OTHER,AS YOU MENTIONED,BENJI.SO,HOPEFULLY,SOMEBODY OUT THERE KNOWS A BIT MORE.SO RALPH,I ASSUME WERE LOOKING AT THE SATIRON LABEL,AND NOT T.S.APOLOGIES TO YOU RALPH,AND THANKS TI YOU,BENJI.MEL.

No problem Mel. I can now breathe a sigh of relief. I have learned so many things on this forum about me that have been a surprise. I thought it was happening again.

Is this the same Milton Wright who gave us the sublime "Keep It Up"? If so, where is the judge now presiding??

Have a look at Benji's site - over 2000 label
scans - even an oldie like me found things I'd
never seen before. Be prepared to forget about
doing anything else for a couple of hours, You
have been warned.

davie,

thanks for your kind words. i have another 300+ new scans lined up for next update which will take place in a couple of days.

re. milton wright:
yes it's the "keep it up" bloke, brother of betty wright and i was told that he had been bettys lawyer back in the 70s so it might be true that he's a judge nowadays.

I've heard Milton Wright is a judge somewhere in New England (Massachusetts, I believe). As Benji said, he is indeed the one who recorded "Keep It Up" for Alston (same label as his sister Betty). Milton Wright also gets an arranger's credit on "Man From The Sky" by Carlos Wright with Purple Mundi.
