Here is another batch of records that require B side titles. Any snippets of information are greatly appreciated.

Lanrod - Joe Kingston - It Was Only Yesterday/?
Is this the same as the Clifford Binns record?

LaSalle 070 - Lynn Terry - I Got A Good Thing/?
I'd also like the ZTSC number for this side.

Lifeline 001 - Brewster Crew - Outta My Life/?

Lou Reen ? - Gwen Owens - Make Him Mine/?

Love ? - Final Decisions - I Feel What You Feel/?
Is this Love label the same one as the Diane Lewis 45?

Lupine 711 - Richard T - I Found You/?

Maltese 104 - Rusty Day - I Gotta Move/?
I'd like the ZTSC numbers too.

Marquee 446 - Does this exist?
Marquee 448 - ditto

MGS 131 - J E Morgan - By My Side/?

Mier ? - Little Milton - Survivor Of Love/Real Love
Mier #6 - mack Brown and The Soul Crusaders - The Ponch/Communicating
This is all I have for Mier - but I know there are more.

That's it for now.
TIA, Graham

Hi Graham.

Lau-Reen 1002 Gwen Owens
One More Day

Lifeline 002 Brewster Crew
I'm One Who Know

Mier 3 Vee
The Makings of You
Trust in Me

Mier 4 Vee
A Stone Good Lover
Cheating is a No No

Vee is Vee Allen. I've got the Little Milton 45 and will dig it out if no one else supplies info. There are other releases on the label, including, I think, one by Al Perkins, who owned Mier.

Did Rudy Robinson & The Hungry Five have release on Mier?

Oh, right--in fact, one of them was sitting inches from me when I typed the previous note.

Mier 2 Rudy Robinson and the Hungry Five
Mut-Ley Doing the Crawlpen Part 1
Mut-Ley Doing the Crawlpen Part 2

I think I have another by RR on Mier, but I could be wrong.

graham:

the artist on mier 6 is listed as T. Mack Brown and the Soul Crusaders.

and i believe rudy robinson's "i smell a rat" also had a mier release.

there's at least one rudy robinson record on lau-reen, too: "close your mouth." maybe you already knew that one.

Right Matt, I Smell a Rat b/w Vick was Mier 7. It was also released on Flip-O 0004. Flip-O was part of New Moon, which most famously did that Joe Matthews record that shows up pretty often. Do you know which release was first?

hey, joe. not sure which came first, the flip-o or the mier, but i think there are actually two joe matthews singles on new moon. flip-o has cool little stick figures like the ones on magic city, right?

Flip-O does have a stick figure. She looks like she's reclining, but is probably supposed to be doing a flip over the letter O, which looks like a record. One interesting thing about the two Flip-O releases I have is that both feature the letters RR in front of the catalog number. Presumably this stands for Rudy Robinson, who is the artist on one and producer on the other (the Electric Banana 45).

I'd forgotten about those little stick figure snake charmers playing their flutes on the Magic City label, with the tiny snake dutifully rising up above the center hole. God, I love the graphic work on old 45s.

Thanks for the details Matt - Does anyone know anything more about New Moon?

The scan of the A-side shows the (apparent) catalog number as 1A. When I typed in my info I was looking at the B-side, which shows the (apparent) catalog number as 2B. I didn't flip it over and see the other side at the time, but considering that it says "Record #1" it's probably safe to say that this was the label's first release. It does make me wonder if the next release was the Vee record that has catalog number 3, since both 1 and 2 appear on this one.

Here are the full details of Maltese 110

110 RUSTY DAY
ZTSC121186 I GOTTA MOVE # 1 (Russell E Davidson)
ZTSC121187 I GOTTA MOVE # 2 (Russell E Davidson)
Prod. Fred Saxon Tera Shirma Productions

There's a copy up for sale on E-bay

Russell Davidson is Rusty's real name. There's no
mention of the Amboy Dukes but that's not really
surprising as Rusty didn't join them until their
third album 1n 1969.

Has anybody heard the Jimmy Satan "Richard Cory"
disc - I assume it's the Paul Simon song that
was recorded by among others Them and the
Chicago Loop. I vaguely remember an interview
with Edwin Starr in the early seventies in
which he mentioned his road band and talked
about his guitarist "Satan" - wonder if it's the same guy.

Another guitarist who toured with Edwin was
Bill Sladich of Flaming Ember.

THE FREE on Marquee also came out on Atco -- it's a white garage band record from the late 60s. (No soul content but pretty good in its own way.)

PS - I posted a tape to you today - a duplicate of one I've done for Willie Kendrick; songwriter of that Sonnetts 45 you mentioned to Mike Theodore.

Guys, just to make things more misty, I have an old Martin Koppel list with a 45 on La Salle by Lynn Terry, I did note that he typed it as follows - La SALLE. I suppose you want a title now! ....Will have to look. It could of course be the Chicago label - or - LA 0070 Detroit? Keith.

Re. Lyn Terry track - this has been played on Richard Searling's radio show - I think by Shifty but I could be wrong. I'd have to try and find the tape to get the title - it was pretty good though - must be extremely rare!

Graham, as usual I don't have the record! The next single on Lu-Pine:

LP-712 - Sons Of The Seven Sisters featuring Silk And Satin - You're So Fine/You're On My Mind

I have listed as being from 1979 and label address is some PO box in DeAnne country (Hi DeAnne) Las Vegas!

Went to Beatin' Rhythm last Saturday and found one of the Vee outings on Mier mentioned above. The tracks are labelled 3-A and 3-B but next to the artist is No. 2. A-side is written by Curtis Mayfield and B-side by Bobby Womack!
