My sister saw this in Houston this weekend and was mightily impressed. Stokley is one of the most underrated vocalists of his generation, and she says he did not disappoint--even singing rings around Rick at times! Sis also noted by the depth of the writing, which delved into his family history and Neil Young connection. She was also tickled by the obligatory "Chappelle's Show" references ["Darkness!", "I'm Rick James, b***h!]. It would be wonderful if this project could be Broadway/Hollywood-bound.
