Released in 1999, the collection has several of those early Miracles recordings [some of them pre-dating Motown] along with a few previously unrelased cuts. I used to have a copy of the From The Beginning LP [in stereo] but I don't remember any of the tracks having 'fake stereo' [I do recall the stereo LP having an alternate mix of "I Have To Dance To Keep From Crying" & and a different take of "I Like It Like That"].

And I agree with tji that it would be very nice to have the From The Beginning collection reissued in Mono & Stereo.

It is a great set. I love that early, unvarnished, innocent sound on the earliest of the Motown albums. Most of the major groups very first albums were like that, but in the Miracles case several of their early releases had that pre-Motown, almost doo-wop sound.
